Archana Puran Singh, a judge on various comedy shows, recently spoke about her experience of "false laughing" on The Kapil Sharma Show. At a press conference, she said, "Anyway, now I am happy to say that there are very few instances where the jokes don't have the punch where I need to 'false-laugh', that's number one, and number two is that Kapil now tells 'you should have said that, this joke didn't launch,' he says it on stage, and we even telecast it. So, we're the first to laugh at ourselves, and the rest of the world joins in."
Archana mentioned how things have changed over the last three years, especially with the show now being on OTT.
Archana addressed previous complaints about laughing at unfunny jokes, saying, "Earlier people used to remark that I laughed at horrible jokes as well, and I was not happy with it. What used to happen was that if a joke lacked punch, they (the makers) reasoned that if we used Archana's laughter, woh punch utth jaayega (it'd make people laugh), but it didn't work that way; woh punch nahi utha, but main hi baith gayi (it didn't become funnier, and I was criticised instead). People began to think, "This woman is mad; she is laughing for nothing." My laughter took a hit."
Archana also now finds her laughter to be more genuine, she added, "I genuinely laugh at the good jokes."
Archana emphasized her enthusiasm for her work, saying, "I had no idea one day I'd be more recognized for my laughs. As an actress, I always assumed that my performances would be well-known, but see where destiny leads you. It's the best job in the world, and I'm smiling all the way to the bank. I'm having a great time; can you imagine watching one episode, one program? People want to catch the event, to see the live Kapil Sharma show, and I'm there every time as a guest, so it's a fantastic opportunity."
