Alappuzha Gymkhana Twitter Review

Khalid Rahman’s much-anticipated film Alappuzha Gymkhana hit the screens on April 10 and Twitter has already erupted with early reactions—most of them overwhelmingly positive. From praising the film’s unique youthful vibe to applauding the standout performance of actor Naslen, social media users have made it clear: Alappuzha Gymkhana is more than just another sports drama.

Youth-Centric Energy and Technically Sound Filmmaking

Akmal Savan (@kingakkhanmal) hailed the film as an “absolute entertainer” and rated it a strong 8.25/10. He described Naslen as the “Star Performer,” calling his character a combination of both main and side-character energy. This duality seemed to have impressed many, given how effortlessly Naslen commanded attention in scenes that were otherwise built for ensemble moments.

Several users described the film as “technically brilliant,” with sharp editing, vivid cinematography, and excellent sound design.

It captures the heat, grit, and emotions of ground-level sports in coastal Kerala. “Pakka vibe material,” Akmal adds, echoing the general feeling among young viewers.

Naslen Steals the Show

Actor Naslen’s portrayal of Simhadri has become a highlight of the film. User @filmsfann posted simply, “Naslen’s Simhadri,” followed by emotional emojis, suggesting how impactful and resonant the character was. There’s a clear consensus online that Naslen has delivered one of his career-best performances, with the energy, humour, and emotional depth to carry the film on his shoulders.

Khalid Rahman’s Signature Touch

Director Khalid Rahman, known for his earlier hits like Unda and Love, seems to have struck a chord yet again. User @thanatos_x4_ commented that Rahman “strikes again with a clean entertainer,” praising the first half for being colorful and fast-paced. The tweet highlighted spot-on casting and encouraged viewers to experience the film in a packed cinema hall.

The collaboration between Vishnu Vijay (music director) and Jimshi Khalid (cinematographer) has also received applause, with visuals and background score playing a big part in creating the film’s immersive vibe.

Mixed Opinions on the Narrative Flow

Not all reviews were glowing, though. Ajay Kamal (@aj_ay03) gave the film a 3/5, appreciating its high moments—especially the character Baby Jean—but felt the film lacked completeness. According to him, the story wrapped up too quickly, leaving viewers with a sense that there was more to explore.

Similarly, @shhhreya_ felt the first half was decent but noted that parts of the film felt “bit artificial.” While she acknowledged that the film “built up nice to the interval block,” she pointed out the absence of the early magic Khalid Rahman is typically known for.

A Colorful Ride for the Youth

Despite minor narrative hiccups, the film has been unanimously declared a “vibe” by most Twitter users. With its youthful energy, vibrant cast, and solid direction, Alappuzha Gymkhana seems to be targeting the Gen Z and millennial crowd—and hitting the bullseye.

From shirtless gym sequences and competitive sports to brotherhood, mischief, and coming-of-age themes, it encapsulates the pulse of today’s youth. Whether you’re a cinema enthusiast, a sports film lover, or just looking for a feel-good theatrical experience, this one’s worth a watch.
