In a rare and memorable honour, the Netherlands paid tribute to Indian actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 2005 by naming a unique variety of tulip after her.

This gesture was made at the famous Keukenhof Gardens, which are frequently called the largest flower garden in the world.

Aishwarya's timeless beauty and extensive impact on the world stage were celebrated with the introduction of the tulip, which has a vibrant and elegant appearance. The flower, which the Dutch government recognised as a cultural icon, symbolised her elegance and charm.

Reflecting on the special moment, Aishwarya expressed her gratitude and national pride. As quoted by the Commonwealth Union website, she remarked, “It feels good when the world recognizes an Indian.” The touching tribute was not just a nod to her cinematic success but also a celebration of her role in representing India with pride on international platforms.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's influence goes beyond Bollywood. Her representation of L'Oréal Paris at Cannes 2025 has her in the news right now. Her two Cannes looks were well received, as they always are.

In addition to garnering her praise from critics, her grace and poise have promoted Indian cinema internationally.

Her accomplishment of being the first Indian actress to serve on the jury at the renowned Cannes Film Festival in 2003 is considered a watershed for Indian representation on the international film scene. Since then, both fans and the fashion industry have eagerly anticipated her yearly appearances at Cannes.
