Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Dhurandhar has fans buzzing with excitement, already being counted among the year’s most anticipated releases.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the movie has been generating hype through its thrilling trailer and catchy songs, and the early response from audiences suggests that anticipation is translating into action.
Advance bookings have already crossed the 30,000-ticket mark, a clear sign that viewers are eager to witness Ranveer back on the big screen.
According to a trading website, the first-day advance numbers are promising. Excluding blocked seats, the film has collected Rs. 1.43 crore, and including blocked seats, the total rises to Rs. 2.94 crore.
With two more days left before the official release, trade insiders expect these numbers to climb even further, potentially reaching a double-digit figure by Thursday.
Experts are optimistic about Dhurandhar’s opening, projecting it to surpass Rs. 20 crore. And if early reviews are positive and word-of-mouth spreads, the film could well exceed these expectations, giving Ranveer another major success to add to his impressive career.
Many fans are also watching closely to see whether Dhurandhar can surpass Ranveer’s previous blockbuster, Padmaavat, which had collected Rs. 24 crore on its first day. With the stakes high, the opening weekend promises to be an exciting showdown.
However, the film’s release hasn’t been without a bit of controversy. Ranveer recently found himself in the spotlight after some claimed he mocked the Daiva shown in the film Kantara.
Taking to Instagram, he addressed the matter directly, emphasising his admiration for fellow actors and respect for all cultures.
He wrote, "My intention was to highlight Rishab's incredible performance in the film. Actor to actor, I know how much it would take to perform that particular scene in the way that he did, for which he has my utmost admiration. I have always deeply respected every culture, tradition and belief in our country. If I've hurt anyone's sentiments, I sincerely apologise."
