Indian women cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal have remained at the centre of attention ever since their much-awaited wedding was abruptly postponed following a sudden medical emergency in the Mandhana family.
Now, a fresh wave of speculation has been circulating on social media, claiming that the couple is finally set to tie the knot on December 7, a rumour that spread rapidly before the family released any official statement.
However, Smriti Mandhana’s brother, Shravan Mandhana, has firmly dismissed these claims. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he clarified, “I have no idea about these rumours. As of now it (the wedding) is still postponed.”
The original ceremony, planned in Sangli, was postponed indefinitely on the very morning it was meant to take place after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suffered a severe health scare and was hospitalized.
Soon after, Palash himself was rushed to the hospital, reportedly due to stress and shock triggered by the unfolding situation. His mother later shared that he had been placed on IV support and undergone multiple tests before being discharged.
While the families were dealing with back-to-back crises, the situation became intense further on social media when cheating allegations started surfacing. Circulating screenshots and unverified claims fuelled speculation that infidelity may have played a role in the postponement.
When fans discovered that Smriti had removed several social media tags associated with Palash and her engagement photos, including the viral proposal video, the situation worsened. These actions were widely seen as indicators of tension in the relationship.
Amid these rumours, attention shifted to two choreographers — Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz Khan — who were involved in planning the wedding festivities. Both were quickly dragged into the controversy but categorically denied all allegations, rejecting any suggestion of involvement with Palash and calling the rumours baseless.
Despite no official statement from either family confirming or denying the speculations concerning their relationship, the Smriti–Palash wedding saga continues to remain in the public eye, with fans hoping for clarity and wishing both individuals well amid the storm of attention.
