ADOR has issued a detailed update on the future of NewJeans. They have detailed where each member stands following the Seoul district court’s ruling that upheld the validity of the group’s exclusive contracts. The announcement comes weeks after members Haerin and Hyein returned to the HYBE subsidiary, effectively restarting formal discussions around the group’s long-stalled activities.
In an official statement shared across ADOR’s social media platforms, the company revealed that it had “engaged in extensive discussions with Minji, Hanni, Danielle and their families following the finalisation of the district court’s decision confirming the validity of the exclusive contracts.” The reference points to the court’s October 30 ruling, which rejected attempts to terminate NewJeans’ agreements with ADOR.

The first concrete update arrived early on December 29 (KST), when ADOR confirmed that Hanni had decided to remain with the label. According to the company, the Australian-born idol returned to Korea with her family and took part in what ADOR described as “long, in-depth conversations.” After revisiting past events and reassessing the situation, the 21-year-old chose to respect the court’s ruling and continue her contract with ADOR, following the same path as Haerin and Hyein.
The situation remains unresolved for Minji, the group’s eldest member. ADOR stated that she is “in ongoing conversations with ADOR, continuing discussions to foster greater mutual understanding,” adding that a clearer update will be shared once talks progress further.
However, the most significant development concerns Danielle. ADOR confirmed that it has terminated her exclusive contract, stating that it was “determined that it would be difficult for her to continue as a NewJeans member and ADOR artist.” The company further revealed plans to “pursue legal accountability against one member of Danielle’s family and former CEO Min Hee-jin,” alleging they bear “significant responsibility for causing this dispute and for the delays in NewJeans’ departure and return.”
Addressing the broader conflict, ADOR acknowledged that prolonged exposure to “distorted and biased information” played a role in deepening misunderstandings between the artists and the company. The statement noted that both sides agree that regaining public trust will require time, transparency, and a fact-based resolution of the controversies that emerged during the dispute. Discussions on how and when these issues will be addressed publicly are reportedly ongoing.
The agency concluded by stating that “ADOR will do its utmost to resolve this matter amicably and ensure that NewJeans can return to fans’ side as soon as possible.”
Whether NewJeans ultimately resumes activities as a three-, four-, or five-member group remains uncertain. The group has not released new music since Supernatural in summer 2024. Meanwhile, the prolonged legal battle has had a notable impact on HYBE’s market performance, with the company’s stock rising nearly 63% year-to-date, buoyed by favourable court rulings and members gradually returning to ADOR.
