Gurucharan Singh, known for his role as Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular TV show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' (TMKOC), has been in the news recently. After returning home, it has been reported that he is not keeping well. Singh had been missing since April 22 but came back to his house in New Delhi earlier this month after 26 days. He shared with Times Now that he is feeling weak and is recovering slowly.
“My health is good. A few days ago I had a terrible headache though but it is under control now. Dheere dheere cheezen theek ho rahi hai (things are getting better to normal slowly),” Singh said. He mentioned that he had to take electrol a few days back because he was feeling weak.
Singh’s disappearance had worried many of his fans and colleagues. He was interrogated by Delhi Police officials upon his return. It was found that he had left home to embark on a religious journey. Police officials revealed that Gurucharan visited Gurudwaras in Amritsar and Ludhiana. He later realized he should return home after being reported missing.
Gurucharan Singh refused to discuss the details of his disappearance, stating that they are still finishing the legal formalities. “I want to finish a few things first before opening up about it. Ek baar yeh closing ho jaye, then I will definitely talk about it,” he said.
Singh added that whatever was pending of his has been completed, but his father now has to complete the remaining formalities. “The election was going on, so we thought we would wait till then. The court formalities have to be done,” he mentioned.
Asit Kumarr Modi, the producer of TMKOC, also talked about Singh’s return. “Ab unke mind mein kya hai woh samajh nahi sakte na (Can’t understand what is going on in his mind). We don’t know what he is feeling. I have been trying to call him, but his phone is unreachable. I want to talk to him. I wish he calls me back so I could know more,” he said.
Gurucharan Singh played the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi, a fun-loving man who is always in party mode and never shies away from expressing love for his wife. He was one of the popular characters on the show and a founding cast member. Gurucharan left the show in 2013 but returned the next year due to public demand. After his exit in 2020, he was replaced by actor Balwinder Singh Suri.
Despite his current health issues, Gurucharan remains optimistic about his recovery and future plans. His fans are eagerly waiting for him to recover fully and share his experiences. Singh’s character in TMKOC was much loved, and his absence has been felt deeply by the audience.
Gurucharan’s journey has been challenging, but his positive outlook and determination to get better are commendable. The actor’s willingness to communicate openly about his health and legal issues once everything is settled shows his commitment to his fans and well-wishers.
