Brady Corbet's postwar epic The Brutalist, which stars Adrien Brody as a Hungarian Holocaust survivor turned architect in the US, garnered seven nominations, including for Corbet, Brody, and co-star Felicity Jones.
Conclave, Edward Berger's papal thriller, also earned six nominations, including Best Director and Best Actor for Ralph Fiennes. Other notable films included The Substance, a daring body horror film, and Anora, which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes, both securing five nominations each.
Meanwhile, Ariana Grande received a nomination for her role in Wicked, while Selena Gomez, who rose to fame through Disney, earned nods for her roles in both the film Emilia Pérez and her Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.
Hugh Grant is once again in the awards race, this time for his striking performance as a Mormon antagonist in the horror film Heretic. Grant hasn't won a major award in three decades. His return to the spotlight has sparked renewed interest in his acting prowess.
The 2025 Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ in the U.S. on January 5, with comedian Nikki Glaser hosting the event. For audiences in India, the ceremony will be available for streaming on Lionsgate Play, airing on January 6 at 6:30 AM IST.
