Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on March 4 referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as ‘big brother’ and said Telangana will develop only if it follows the Gujarat model.

He said, "PM is like a big brother and any state can develop with  his help and support. If Telangana wants to develop, it has to follow the Gujarat model."

Reddy said that he will no longer fight against the Centre and will join PM Modi’s vision of making India a 5-trillion-dollar economy.

Reddy said, “The five metropolitan city – Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad have contributed in PM Modi’s five-trillion-dollar economy dream.”

He said Hyderabad and Telangana will continue to assist the Centre in the country's development as he requested funds for the metro rail project.

PM Modi is on a tour to Telangana and laid foundation for over 30 development projects worth more than Rs 56,000 crore in Telangana's Adilabad.

In his address, while taking a jibe at RJD leader Lalu Yadav's dig, Prime Minister Modi said, “The country's 140 crore population is my family.”
