In a big political messaging, ahead of the two crucial state polls-- Maharashtra and Jharkhand, NDA leaders along with BJP top brass attended the swearing-in ceremony of Nayab Singh Saini, the new Haryana chief minister.

In the recently concluded Haryana assembly polls, BJP returned to power for a third consecutive term, securing an absolute majority in the 90-member assembly. The saffron party won 48 seats in the 90-member assembly.

Later today, PM Modi will chair a conclave of the NDA chief ministers and deputy chief ministers in Chandigarh between 3 pm to 7 pm. The agenda for the conclave is said to focus on crucial national development issues, including discussions on the observance of Sanvidhan Ka Amrut Mahotsav (75 years of the Constitution) and the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Emergency. Notably, the gathering is set to feature participation from at least 13 NDA CMs and 16 deputies.

Saini's swearing-in and the meeting is being held on Valmiki Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki. The date, party sources say has been carefully chosen to send a message to the Schedule Castes, whose vote was seen as having tilted towards the INDIA bloc in the Lok Sabha polls, in which the saffron party fell short a simple majority for the first time in ten years and had to count on NDA constituents to form the government.

The opposition's (INDIA grouping) pitch of the Constitution in danger and accusing BJP of covertly attempting to change provisions in the Constitution specific to reservations seem to have paid dividends for the INDIA bloc as BJP managed to secure five seats in Haryana during the recently concluded parliamentary polls.

However, defying the exit poll predictions, and on the back of RSS' tireless grassroots work, the saffron party managed to turn the tables with a comprehensive win in the Haryana assembly elections. The BJP not only pulled off a third straight win but also register its best-ever performance in the state.

In Haryana, the RSS did the groundwork with a massive outreach effort. It held around 16,000 small meetings in the last four months, playing a crucial role in swaying non-Jat voters in the state. It was reported that RSS workers went door-to-door, apprising people of the central and state government's policies, and also addressed public gatherings.

The RSS focused particularly on those constituencies where the BJP was perceived to be weak. With the RSS-BJP in sync and producing a positive outcome in Haryana, the initial message that the party is sending is that the saffron party is considering the SC voters one of its strengths.
