The National Institute of Design (NID) has announced the NID DAT 2026 Prelims result for the Master of Design (M.Des) programme. Candidates who appeared for the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims can now access their scorecards on the official website admissions.nid.edu.

To download the scorecard, candidates need to log in using their registered email ID and date of birth. Those who qualify in the Prelims round will be eligible to appear for the DAT Mains examination, which is the next stage of the admission process. NID has also opened the rechecking facility for candidates who wish to verify their answer sheets for calculation or marking errors.

How to check NID DAT 2026 Prelims result

Candidates can follow the steps below to download their scorecard:

  1. Visit the official website admissions.nid.edu
  2. Click on the link titled “NID DAT 2026 Prelims Result – M.Des”
  3. Enter your registered email ID and date of birth
  4. Submit the details
  5. Download and save the scorecard for future reference

The scorecard includes important details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, category, marks obtained, and qualifying status. Candidates are advised to keep a copy of the result ready for the next stage of admission.

Rechecking window open till February 14

NID has started the rechecking process for the M.Des DAT Prelims result. The window opened at 6 PM on February 12 and will remain available until 11:59 PM on February 14, 2026.

Rechecking will be limited to verifying whether all answers have been evaluated, whether the total marks have been calculated correctly, and whether any question has been left unchecked. The institute has clarified that it will not re-evaluate answers or make changes to marks beyond these checks. Candidates must submit their rechecking requests within the given timeline through the official portal.

DAT Mains Exam Date

Candidates who clear the Prelims will move on to the NID DAT 2026 Mains. This stage will include a Studio Test followed by a Personal Interview. The examination is expected to be held in March 2026, while the exact dates and admit card details will be announced on the official website soon.

Final admission to the M.Des programme will be based on the candidate’s performance in both the Prelims and Mains stages. Applicants are advised to regularly check the official NID website for updates on the studio test schedule, interview details, and further admission instructions.
