
The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) has opened the objection window for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 provisional answer key. Candidates who are not satisfied with the answers can submit challenges through the official GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal.
The objection window will remain open till February 28, 2026. To raise objections, candidates have to log in using their GATE enrolment ID and password.
GATE 2026 answer key challenge fee
Candidates are required to pay Rs 500 per question to challenge the provisional answer key. The fee is non-refundable. Challenges will only be accepted after the payment is completed through the portal.
Who can raise objections
Regular candidates are allowed to challenge the provisional answer key by paying the prescribed fee. Provisional candidates are not permitted to raise objections. However, they can log in to the GOAPS portal to view their responses and download the response sheet, question paper and provisional answer key.

Candidates should make sure to submit their objections before the deadline. No requests will be accepted after February 28, 2026.
The GATE score is used for admission to postgraduate programmes such as Master of Engineering (ME), Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
It is also considered for recruitment in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and for research fellowships in organisations including Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) laboratories.
