DU UG Admission 2025

Delhi University (DU) has officially released the first seat allotment list for its undergraduate courses for the academic session 2025-26. A total of 93,166 students have been provisionally allotted colleges and courses in this initial round of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). This year, DU has made approximately 30% more allocations in the first list compared to the available 71,642 seats, a strategic move aimed at minimizing vacant seats, especially in off-campus colleges.

Among the notable allotments, 1,325 students have secured seats under the single girl child category, and 259 under the orphan category, highlighting the university's inclusive approach.

Key Options for Allotted Students: Freeze or Upgrade?

Students who have received an allotment now face a crucial decision: to 'Freeze' their admission or opt for an 'Upgrade'. Understanding these options and their implications is vital for a smooth admission process.

Freeze Option: If a student is satisfied with their allotted college and course, they should choose the 'Freeze' option. By selecting 'Freeze', the student confirms their acceptance of the current seat and will not be considered for any higher preference in subsequent rounds. After freezing, the student must complete the admission process by paying the prescribed fee.

Upgrade Option: For students who are not entirely satisfied with their current allotment but wish to be considered for a higher preference in their list, the 'Upgrade' option is available. Choosing 'Upgrade' keeps their chances open for a better-preferred college or course in the subsequent rounds. However, it's crucial to note that if a student is upgraded to a new college/course in a later round, their previous allotment will be forfeited, and they will be mandated to take admission in the upgraded seat.
