The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has postponed the release of the GATE 2026 admit card. As per the earlier schedule, the hall ticket was expected to be released on January 2, 2026. However, it has not been issued yet, and candidates are now waiting for an official update on the revised release date.
IIT Guwahati, which is conducting the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026, is expected to announce the new admit card release date soon. Once released, registered candidates will be able to download their admit cards from the official GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
The GATE 2026 examination is scheduled to be held on February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026. The exam will take place in multiple shifts at centres across India. The admit card is a mandatory document for entry into the examination hall. Candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam without it.
After downloading the admit card, candidates must carefully check all the details mentioned on it. These include the candidate’s name, registration or roll number, exam date, shift timing, and the address of the exam centre. Any mistake or mismatch in the details should be reported to the GATE authorities immediately to avoid problems on the exam day.
Along with the admit card, candidates must carry a valid photo identity proof to the examination centre. Accepted ID proofs include Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, driving licence, or any other government issued photo ID.
