The Bihar government has officially opened the gates for the next phase of its flagship scheme, the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana (MMUY) 2026. Aspiring entrepreneurs from across the state can now apply for financial assistance to turn their business dreams into reality. The online application portal became active on February 25, 2026, and will remain open for a limited period until March 15, 2026.
This scheme is being hailed as a game-changer for the state's youth, offering a substantial financial cushion to those looking to start their own ventures in the manufacturing, trading, or service sectors.
The Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana is designed to eliminate the financial hurdles that often prevent young people from starting a business. The government provides a comprehensive financial package of up to Rs 10 lakh, structured in a way that minimizes the burden on the entrepreneur.
The key highlight is the 50% subsidy on the total project cost. This means that out of the maximum Rs 10 lakh assistance, up to Rs 5 lakh is provided as a grant that you do not have to repay. The remaining Rs 5 lakh is given as a loan, which comes with highly favourable terms.
Interest Rate Breakdown:
For Women, SC/ST, and Extremely Backward Classes (EBC): The loan portion is completely interest-free, making it an incredibly attractive proposition for these categories.
For General Category Youth (Under Youth Entrepreneur Component): A nominal 1% simple interest is charged on the loan amount.
The loan is repayable in 84 easy installments (over 7 years), ensuring that the repayment schedule does not become a financial strain on the new business.

To ensure the benefits reach the right aspirants, the Bihar government has set clear eligibility guidelines. Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the following conditions :
