Amidst a complex global employment landscape, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-Delhi) has reported a robust placement season, with students securing 1,275 job offers by December. The figures, detailed in an institute statement this week, indicate a resilient recruitment drive for the 2025-26 academic year.
More than 1,140 individual students have been placed so far, with the process continuing until May 2026. A significant highlight is the surge in pre-placement offers (PPOs), which have risen by 33% compared to the previous year, exceeding 300. These PPOs are typically extended to students after successful internships, The Indian Express reported.
The recruitment landscape shows sustained interest from major industry players across sectors. Firms that have made double-digit offers on campus include technology giants like Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Qualcomm; financial powerhouses such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Barclays and American Express.
Consulting majors including Accenture Strategy and Consulting, EY GDS and EY Parthenon. Deutsche India and Wells Fargo International Solutions are also among the prominent recruiters.
Adding an international dimension to the season, students have received more than 35 offers from organisations abroad. These opportunities span multiple global regions, including Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
Reflecting on the trends, Prof Naresh V Datla, Professor-in-Charge of the Office of Career Services (OCS) at IIT-Delhi, credited the students' performance.
“IIT-Delhi has witnessed a strong and encouraging placement season this year. The consistent performance of our students reflects their academic rigour, adaptability and readiness for industry challenges,” he was quoted by The Indian Express as saying. Prof Datla also extended thanks to recruiting partners for their continued trust.
Institute officials anticipate further momentum in the coming months, with Prof Suresh Neelakantan, Co-Professor-in-Charge of the OCS, reportedly indicating that the office is actively broadening its engagement with employers.
He stated that the OCS continues to strengthen collaborations with a diverse set of recruiters and job roles, expecting more companies to recruit in the upcoming phase of the placement season to support students' aspirations.
The strong early figures from IIT-Delhi’s campus suggest a positive trajectory for the premier institute’s graduating cohort, marking a notable phase in this year’s placement calendar.
