The Bombay High Court on Thursday received a bomb threat via email, prompting immediate security measures and the evacuation of court premises across Mumbai.
According to sources, the threatening email warned of blasts at multiple Magistrate Courts in the city. Following the alert, court complexes at Andheri, Bandra and the Esplanade area at Fort were swiftly evacuated as a precaution.
In view of the threat, court proceedings were suspended for the day and all courtrooms were cleared. Bomb disposal squads were deployed at the affected locations, including the Bombay High Court premises, to conduct thorough checks.
Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar directed fellow judges to vacate their courtrooms as part of the safety protocol. Security agencies are currently assessing the situation, and further updates are awaited.
