Tata Motors is gearing up to reintroduce the iconic Sierra nameplate in the Indian market, with the SUV scheduled for launch on November 25. While the company has not disclosed complete details about its positioning, the new Tata Sierra stands out with a distinctive design that blends ruggedness with modern styling cues.

The SUV's front fascia is imposing, marked by a sculpted bonnet and sharp, angular lines that add strong visual character. A blacked-out grille featuring the Tata logo at the centre and the 'SIERRA' nameplate integrated within defines the SUV's identity. The LED lighting package includes sleek headlamps, a continuous LED light bar across the nose and LED fog lamps that contribute to its futuristic appeal.

From the side, the new Sierra looks massive yet sporty. It features dual-tone alloy wheels and a dual-tone exterior colour scheme. Tata has experimented with an interesting colour treatment on the A, B, C and D pillars, combining body colour with black detailing. This creates a visual impression of the classic wraparound rear glass section seen on the original Sierra, achieved through paint detailing rather than actual glass. Roof rails, a shark fin antenna, flush door handles, blacked-out ORVMs and muscular wheel arches further emphasise its SUV stance.

At the rear, the SUV carries a wide tailgate with the Tata badge and a bold 'SIERRA' nameplate. The connected LED taillight strip extends across the back, mirroring the front-end design continuity. Muscular bumpers on both ends strengthen its rugged proportions and underline its SUV DNA.

Fresh teasers from Tata have revealed new interior and capability details. The Sierra will feature a triple-screen layout -- a digital instrument cluster, an infotainment touchscreen and a co-driver display -- a first for any Tata car. This setup enhances the premium appeal of the cabin and is expected to be among its standout features. The dashboard design is all-new, moving away from the familiar layouts of the Safari, Harrier and Harrier.ev. However, elements such as the HVAC controls, gear knob and steering wheel appear similar to those in the brand's larger SUVs.

The teasers also show the new Sierra being driven across varied terrains, hinting at multiple terrain modes and the possibility of multiple drive modes, similar to other large Tata SUVs. The second row is equipped with plush upholstery, individual headrests for all occupants and window shades. Other key features include Level 2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control and multiple connected technologies.

The new Sierra will be part of Tata's multi-powertrain strategy. It will be available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric (EV) versions. The ICE version will debut first on November 25, followed by the EV next year.

The new Tata Sierra is expected to be priced between Rs 13.50 lakh and Rs 24 lakh (ex-showroom). It will take on rivals such as the Mahindra Thar Roxx and the MG Hector.
