Maruti Suzuki India's premium MPV, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto, has bagged a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP). The strong-hybrid three-row MPV, which is essentially the badge-engineered version of the Toyota Innova Hycross, scored the top rating in both adult and child safety categories.
Scores and test results
In the crash tests, the Invicto scored 30.43 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. The tested models were the Alpha+ 7-seater and Zeta+ 8-seater, with a crash test weight of 1,946kg.
The MPV performed strongly in the side impact test, where it got full marks, and also fared well in the frontal offset test. For child safety, the Invicto notched up the maximum possible 24/24 score in the dynamic test, thanks to ISOFIX mounts and i-Size child seat compatibility.
