
Mahindra & Mahindra today announced the launch of the Thar Roxx Star Edn, a new special edition variant of the popular SUV positioned as a premium, design-focussed extension of the Thar Roxx range, with prices starting at Rs 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory). The new edition features exterior and interior enhancements to further enhance the SUV's appeal.
The exterior design updates include a piano black finished front grille and 19-inch piano black alloy wheels, enhancing the SUV's premium appeal. Lighting elements include LED projector headlamps with DRLs, LED fog lamps, and LED taillamps. A panoramic sunroof adds to the premium character.
The Thar Roxx Star Edn is available in four exterior colours. There is a new Citrine Yellow shade, along with Tango Red, Everest White and Stealth Black.
The new version features an all-black leatherette interior with suede accents, adding a darker cabin theme. Comfort and convenience upgrades include front ventilated seats, a sliding armrest, fully automatic climate control, electric fold ORVMs, cruise control, a tyre direction monitoring system and a 60:40 split rear seat with multi-point recline.

On the technology front, the SUV is equipped with a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch HD digital instrument cluster. Like several Mahindra SUVs, the new Thar Roxx edition also offers Adrenox connected car technology with Alexa integration and 83 connected features. Smartphone connectivity is supported through wired and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additional features include a surround view camera, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon Quantum Logic premium audio system, and approach unlock and walk-away lock functionality.
Safety equipment on the Thar Roxx Star Edn includes six airbags (driver, passenger, side and curtain), tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, auto-dimming IRVM, impact-sensing auto door unlock, immobiliser, and E-call and SOS functionality. The model is engineered for a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, according to Mahindra.
Powertrain options remain unchanged from the standard Thar Roxx range. The SUV is offered with the 2.0-litre TGDi mStallion petrol engine producing 177PS of power and 380Nm of torque, and the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine delivering 175PS of power and 400Nm of torque. Transmission options include manual and automatic gearboxes, with all variants configured in rear-wheel drive.
Off-road capability is supported by the M_Glyde body-on-frame platform, Gen II adventure statistics, Xplor selectable terrain modes (Snow, Sand and Mud) and a brake-locking differential.
The Thar Roxx Star Edn is priced at 17.85 lakh for the petrol AT variant, Rs 16.85 lakh for the diesel MT variant and Rs 18.35 lakh for the diesel AT variant. All the prices are introductory ex-showroom.
