Adani Group commissions 40mw solar power plant in Gujarat
Infrastructure conglomerate Adani Group has commissioned a 40 mega watt solar power plant in Gujarat's Kutch district. It is the largest solar power plant in India, the company said on Thursday.

Infrastructure conglomerate Adani Group has commissioned a 40 mega watt solar power plant in Gujarat's Kutch district. It is the largest solar power plant in India, the company said on Thursday."For India's largest private thermal power producer, the solar power plant marks Adani's first big foray in the renewable energy sector. Going forward Adani plans to expand the capacity of this plant to 100 mega watt," the company said.The power generated from this solar power plant will be linked to a substation in Netra, 20 km away from the project site.Separately, group company Adani Power is in the process of commissioning two more units of 660 mw at its thermal power plant in Mundra by March 2012. The company is currently operating 4 units of 330mw and 3 units of 660mw at the plant. Upon commissioning the two more units, the plant will have a final capacity of 4,620mw, making it the single largest thermal power plant in India, Adani said.Further, Adani Power also plans to commission 1,320mw at its Tiroda thermal power station in Maharashtra, in the current fiscal year, it said.Adani Enterprises shares were down 2% at Rs 272.55 on NSE in noon trade on Thursday.
