'Say hi to George Soros': Elon Musk opens up on death threats, calls them 'real'

There were quite a few death threats, I have to tell you. My security team said it's actually gone down from 18,000 to 17,000, says Musk.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has earlier criticised billionaire George Soros, accusing him of ‘hatred of humanity’

Speaking about the death threats he received ever since taking the job of DOGE head, Tesla CEO Elon Musk clapped back at a protester and asked the individual to “give my regards to George". The protester interrupted Musk’s speech at the Wisconsin Town Hall on Sunday.

“Say hi to George Soros for me. It was inevitable that at least a few Soros operatives would be in the audience. Give my regards to George," Musk said.

His remarks were followed by chants of “USA, USA" from the crowd.

"There were quite a few death threats, I have to tell you. My security team said it's actually gone down from 18,000 to 17,000. But you can see how crazy some of these people are—look at the two people who tried to assassinate President Trump; they both almost succeeded. It's real," said Musk.

Musk said during the first cabinet meeting with Donald Trump he had told the US President that he has been getting “a lot of death threats" for the job he’s doing at DOGE.

He also mentioned Trump’s assassination bid during the campaign trail in 2024 and said, “they almost succeeded".

Musk earlier criticised billionaire  Soros, accusing him of "hatred of humanity" that extends to Israel. Musk made these comments while sharing a news report about Israeli UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan's condemnation of Soros for donating $15 million to NGOs that allegedly support the Hamas militant group.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Tesla chief wrote, "George Soros' hatred of humanity includes Israel btw."

Soros was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honour, by then President Joe Biden. Musk termed the move  a “travesty".

“A travesty that Biden is giving Soros the Medal of Freedom," Musk said.
