US President Donald Trump has renewed his push for sweeping changes to election and social policies, outlining a proposal he called the “THE SAVE AMERICA ACT!” in a post on his platform Truth Social.
The plan lists stricter voting requirements, including mandatory voter identification, proof of U.S. citizenship to cast ballots and tighter limits on mail-in voting, alongside positions on transgender participation in sports and medical procedures involving minors. Trump framed the initiative as part of a broader effort to reshape election safeguards and cultural policies in the United States.
In the post, Trump laid out several measures he said should be adopted to protect elections and address social issues.
“THE SAVE AMERICA ACT!” Trump wrote, before listing his proposals.
Among them, he said “ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW VOTER I.D. (IDENTIFICATION!)” and added that “ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP IN ORDER TO VOTE.”
Trump also called for strict limits on absentee voting, stating “NO MAIL-IN BALLOTS (EXCEPT FOR ILLNESS, DISABILITY, MILITARY, OR TRAVEL!).”
Beyond election rules, Trump also addressed gender and youth medical care. He wrote “NO MEN IN WOMEN’S SPORTS.” He further added “NO TRANSGENDER MUTILATION SURGERY FOR CHILDREN, WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN APPROVAL OF THE PARENTS.”
Trump did not provide details on when or how such measures could be introduced, though similar proposals have been debated by Republican lawmakers at both state and federal levels.
The post comes as political debates in the United States intensify over voting regulations, transgender participation in sports and medical treatment for minors — issues that have become central to the country’s increasingly polarised political landscape.
