Pakistan’s Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, on Tuesday publicly named and called out several Indian social media handles and television clips that have criticised Pakistan’s military establishment, alleging that they were operated by “RAW agents”.

During a media briefing, the Pakistan Army’s chief spokesperson displayed screenshots of social media posts and excerpts from Indian television programmes, accusing Indian critics of running a coordinated propaganda campaign against Pakistan and its armed forces.

The social media handles cited during the briefing included Baba Banaras (@RealBababanaras), journalist Sidhant Sibal (@sidhant), and Network18 News Editor Shubhangi Sharma (@ItsShubhangi).

The episode has triggered unease within security and diplomatic circles, with top intelligence sources calling it a sharp departure from established military communication norms and a sign of deeper institutional anxiety within the Pakistan Army.

During the same briefing, the DG ISPR also remarked, “Mazaa na kraayaa, toh paise vaapis” (If you don’t enjoy it, money back), while issuing threats directed at India and Afghanistan, further drawing attention to the tone and tenor of the military’s public messaging.

During the briefing, he claimed that India and Afghanistan could jointly launch an attack on Pakistan, adding in a provocative tone, “aa jao, tum dono ka swagat hai” (come ahead, both of you are welcome).
