Faisal Karim Masud, the prime suspect in the murder of Bangladesh student leader Osman Hadi, has denied any involvement in the killing in a video message that surfaced online, claiming he is currently in Dubai and alleging that Jamaat-Shibir was responsible for the murder.
Faisal stated that his association with Hadi was strictly business-related and acknowledged making political donations to him, but claimed these were made in exchange for promised government contracts and were not linked to any criminal activity.

Bangladesh police, however, have alleged that Faisal Karim Masud and another suspect, Alamgir Sheikh, fled to India after the December 12 attack. According to senior Dhaka Metropolitan Police officer SN Nazrul Islam, the two crossed the Haluaghat border. They were allegedly received by two Indian citizens, who escorted them into Meghalaya before handing them over to accomplices.
However, BSF chief in Meghalaya, Inspector General O P Opadhyay, denied these claims. “There is no evidence to suggest that any individual crossed the international border from the Haluaghat sector into Meghalaya. The BSF has neither detected nor received any report of such an incident," he said.
“I did not kill Hadi. Me and my family are being implicated. I have come to Dubai to save myself from the witch hunt. Hadi is a product of Jamat. Jamatis may have been behind it. Yes, I met Hadi for professional reasons as I own an IT firm. I made political donations to him. He promised to get me government contracts," he said in the video.
Faisal, the prime accused in the high-profile murder of Bangladesh student leader Osman Hadi, is currently in Dubai, a CNN-News18 report said. Sources added that he holds a five-year multiple-entry UAE long-term tourist visa issued in December 2022 and paid for by him personally, raising fresh questions about his recent movements and possible attempts to evade law enforcement.
