Amid ongoing regional airspace closures across the Middle East, Oman Air has announced the cancellation of several flights. The airline said it will temporarily suspend services on routes scheduled to operate between March 9 and March 15, 2026.

According to the airline’s official advisory, flights to the following destinations have been cancelled: Amman, Dubai, Manama, Doha, Dammam, Kuwait City, Copenhagen, Baghdad and Khasab.

The airline shared the update on its social media platform X, stating that the decision was taken due to ongoing regional airspace closures affecting normal flight operations.

Safety concerns behind the decision

Airlines operating across the Middle East have been adjusting flight routes and schedules as geopolitical tensions and airspace restrictions continue to disrupt established corridors. With several routes temporarily unavailable, airlines have had to cancel or reroute flights to ensure passenger and crew safety.

Officials from Oman Air said the current situation has made certain routes inaccessible, prompting the temporary suspension of services to the affected destinations.

Additional flights on alternate routes

To minimise disruption for travellers, Oman Air has scheduled additional flights on routes where operations remain possible. These flights are aimed at helping accommodate passengers whose travel plans have been impacted.

Travellers are advised to check the airline’s website or mobile app for the latest schedule updates.

Advisory for passengers

Passengers who have already booked tickets on the affected routes can manage their bookings and rebook flights through the airline’s official website or mobile app.

Oman Air has apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked passengers for their understanding and cooperation during this period.
