IndiGo on Tuesday, February 3, issued a travel advisory announcing the cancellation of flights to and from select international destinations till February 28, citing the evolving geopolitical situation in the Middle East.

As part of the revised schedule, IndiGo has cancelled services to and from Tbilisi (Georgia), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Baku (Azerbaijan) and Tashkent (Uzbekistan) till the end of February.

The airline said the decision was taken in view of ongoing political tensions around Iran and is aimed at ensuring the safety of passengers and crew.

Refunds and alternate options for passengers

IndiGo has assured affected passengers that they are eligible for a full refund on cancelled bookings. Travellers can also explore alternative travel options, depending on availability.

The airline has advised passengers to regularly check their flight status and stay updated through its official communication channels.

“As the situation continues to evolve, our plans remain under regular review. Any further updates or changes will be shared through our communication channels,” IndiGo added.

Cancellations extended after initial review

On January 25, IndiGo had issued a travel advisory announcing cancellations and what it described as “proactive” adjustments to its international operations due to recent developments around Iran. As part of these measures, flights scheduled on January 25 from Delhi to Tbilisi and from Mumbai to Almaty, along with the corresponding return services, were cancelled.

Passengers with upcoming travel plans to the affected destinations are advised to plan accordingly and opt for refunds or alternative arrangements where possible.

The advisory comes as airlines globally continue to reassess flight routes amid rising geopolitical uncertainties in the region.
