If you’re looking to experience a different side of the national capital, Delhi Tourism has something new in store. In a major push to promote experiential and night tourism, the Delhi government has expanded its curated Heritage Walks programme, introducing guided evening tours across some of the city’s most iconic landmarks.

The initiative aims to encourage visitors to extend their stay while exploring Delhi’s layered history, architectural evolution and cultural legacy in a more immersive way.

Evening Heritage Walks In Delhi: What’s New?

To strengthen night tourism offerings, Delhi Tourism has introduced specially curated evening heritage walks that focus on storytelling, thematic experiences and interactive engagement.

These walks are designed for:

  • Corporate groups
  • Public sector undertakings (PSUs)
  • Educational institutions
  • Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs)
  • Domestic and international tourists

The guided tours are organised on demand for groups of 25 or more participants and conclude by 8:30 PM. The cost is Rs 500 per person, and participants receive a welcome kit that includes a bag, cap, wristband and water bottle.

Authorities have also kept the timings flexible, allowing customisation based on group preferences, provided the walk ends by the stipulated time.

Flagship Heritage Walks You Can Book

Delhi Tourism has curated a wide range of themed experiences that blend history, culture, architecture and even mystery. Some of the flagship walks include:

1. Haunted Heritage Walk at Feroz Shah Kotla

A spine-chilling evening trail exploring legends and lesser-known stories associated with the historic complex.

2. Dekho Apna CP – Connaught Place Circuit

An engaging exploration of the colonial-era commercial hub, its architecture and evolution.

3. Dilli Ka Dil Dekho – Walk of Shahjahanabad

4. Ek Shaam Shaheedon Ke Naam at National War Memorial

5. Roshan-e-Dilli – Evening Walk at Qutub Complex

A magical twilight experience amid illuminated historical ruins.

6. Walk of Qutub Minar & Mehrauli Archaeological Park

An immersive journey through centuries of Delhi’s architectural transformation.

7. Walk of Hauz Khas at Hauz Khas Complex

8. Food Walk – Old Delhi

9. Nawabo Ki Aakhri Nishani & Dilli Ka Dil: Worship Places Walk

Themed explorations focusing on Delhi’s syncretic traditions and spiritual diversity.

A Push Towards Experiential & Night Tourism

Officials say the expanded programme is part of a broader strategy to position Delhi as a leading experiential tourism destination.

By transforming traditional sightseeing into curated storytelling experiences, Delhi Tourism aims to:

  • Increase average tourist stay duration
  • Boost late-afternoon and evening footfall
  • Offer flexible, engaging heritage tours
  • Strengthen corporate and institutional tourism

Recently, Delhi Tourism organised a special heritage walk for officials from REC Limited, a ‘Maharatna’ Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power. The immersive experience covered Mehrauli Archaeological Park and Qutub Minar, receiving positive feedback for its insightful and thoughtfully curated format.

Why This Matters For Travellers

Unlike fixed public tours, these heritage walks are customised, thematic and group-based, offering a more personalised and immersive alternative to conventional sightseeing.

For travellers planning a trip to Delhi, this means:

  • Exploring monuments beyond daylight hours
  • Discovering hidden stories behind iconic landmarks
  • Participating in structured yet flexible group experiences
  • Engaging with Delhi’s heritage through guided storytelling

With experiential travel gaining popularity among both domestic and international tourists, Delhi Tourism’s evening heritage walks could redefine how visitors interact with the capital’s rich past.

How To Book

The walks are organised upon request for groups of at least 25 participants. Corporates, institutions and tour groups can approach Delhi Tourism to customise their preferred route and schedule.

As the capital strengthens its night tourism offerings, these curated heritage experiences promise to turn ordinary sightseeing into an enriching journey through time.
