  • Air India to restart Delhi-Rome non-stop flights on March 25, 2026 after 6 years
  • Four weekly flights will operate using Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner
  • Bookings are now open for the Delhi-Rome service

Air India has announced the return of its non-stop service between Delhi and Rome, marking the airline’s comeback to the Italian capital after nearly six years. Suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic, the route will resume from March 25, 2026, strengthening Air India’s expanding European network and offering travellers a direct link between India and Italy once again.

The airline will operate four weekly flights between Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (Fiumicino). Services will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, making it easier for Indian travellers to plan spring and summer trips to Europe, traditionally the busiest travel seasons.

Air India will deploy its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on the route, configured with 18 flat-bed Business Class seats and 238 Economy Class seats. The aircraft promises a comfortable long-haul experience, combining modern cabin features with the airline’s signature Indian hospitality.

The resumption of the Rome service is significant given Italy’s status as one of India’s key trading partners in Europe. Passenger traffic between the two countries has been steadily rising, supported by a sizeable Indian community in Italy and growing interest among Indian travellers in Italian art, history, cuisine, and cultural experiences.

Beyond point-to-point travel, the Delhi–Rome flights are timed to provide seamless onward connections via Delhi to several destinations across Asia. These include Bangkok, Colombo, Ho Chi Minh City, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Phuket, and Singapore, reinforcing Delhi’s role as Air India’s global transit hub.
