




Prashant Kishor's remarks assume significance as Sharad Pawar has called a meeting of major opposition parties on June 22 to "discuss the current scenario" in the country.
Prashant Kishor met Sharad Pawar at the latter's residence in Mumbai on Friday. The meeting, which lasted around three hours, sparked speculation in political circles.
NCP sources said apart from discussing the prevailing political situation, Sharad Pawar hosted lunch for Prashant Kishor.
Kishor, apart from announcing his decision to quit, called upon all political parties to "unite against the Election Commission".
Mr Kishor's statement came after PM Modi addressed the nation on the coronavirus situation amid a surge in cases. He also alleged that the Prime Minister bluffed people to claim victory in the battle against the pandemic.
