The commerce minister hinted that the upcoming budget will show Centre's commitment to access to universal healthcare.

Goyal's visit comes ahead of the 10th round of negotiations for the proposed FTA between India and European Union, which is scheduled between 10-14 March in Brussels.

The commerce minister warned the automobile industry from depending heavily on imports, especially on countries that indulge in non-transparent economic practices.

Goyal said reliable power would increasingly become a necessity with data centres coming up globally. Meanwhile, G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant said India must radically shift towards cutting-edge technology to become 'atmanirbhar' and curb imports.

He said that global investors are showing keen interest in India as the country offers several advantages such as strong domestic market, skilled and talented workforce and rule of law.

The ministry, he said, will discuss with the National Start-up Advisory Council and take feedback "if any steps are required to make their journey back easier. We are open to ideas."

Goyal acknowledged that an increase in shipping costs due to the Red Sea crisis limited the growth in Indian exports to US, Europe, Latin America and African nations.

Officials from the Department of Heavy Industries are expected to attend the meeting. Representatives from Tata, Mahindra, Mercedes-Benz India, Hero MotoCorp, and other companies have been invited to the deliberations.
