




Tamil Nadu polls are due in the first half of this year, with the opposition NDA looking to defeat the DMK-led alliance. Actor-turned-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is also seeking to throw out the DMK government.
After promising to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,000 for all women heads of families if the party came to power in the 2021 election, the DMK rolled out the scheme only for women who met the criteria, and that too 28 months after coming to power, Edappadi K Palaniswami said.
Tamil Nadu Maritime Board has handled 16.11 lakh tonne of cargo last year, generating revenues of Rs 9.46 crore. According to an official release, the Board handled total cargo of 16.11 lakh tonne through 22 minor ports and generated revenues of Rs 9.46 crore to the group turnover of Rs 27.84 crore for the period 2010-11.
