Cloudflare’s 2025 Radar Year in Review provides a data-backed look at how people across the world used the internet over the past year. Using anonymised and aggregated traffic data from its global network and the 1.1.1.1 public DNS resolver, Cloudflare ranked the most popular internet services under its “Overall” category. This list reflects total internet activity across platforms, devices, and regions, offering insight into which digital services formed the backbone of everyday online usage in 2025.

Google once again emerged as the most popular internet service worldwide in 2025. The ranking is driven largely by search-related activity, along with traffic from connected services that users rely on for navigation, information discovery, and daily online tasks. Cloudflare’s data indicates that search remains a primary entry point to the internet for billions of users.

Facebook secured the second position overall, highlighting its continued relevance as a global social networking platform. Despite changing user habits and increased competition, Facebook continued to generate substantial traffic throughout the year.

Instagram ranked fifth, reflecting steady usage driven by visual content consumption, creator engagement, and messaging features. TikTok followed at eighth place, indicating consistent demand for short-form video content across markets.

Apple ranked third on the list, supported by traffic from its tightly integrated ecosystem, including device updates, app services, and cloud-backed features. Microsoft followed at fourth place, with traffic linked to Windows updates, productivity tools, and enterprise services contributing to its ranking.

Amazon Web Services appeared at sixth place, underlining the growing role of cloud infrastructure in global internet traffic. Amazon’s consumer-facing platform ranked ninth, reflecting continued use of e-commerce services.
