After launching the Xiaomi 14 series in global markets this year, the Chinese brand has officially revealed the launch date of its Xiaomi 15 series in its home country. The flagship smartphone series will come with the new HyperOS 2.0 operating system and will be released alongside the Xiaomi Pad 7 series and Band 9 Pro.
Xiaomi 15 series: Key detailsThrough a new post on Weibo, Xiaomi has revealed the first look and design of the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro. Both smartphones will be powered by the newly launched Snapdragon 8 Elite and are confirmed to launch on October 29th in China. The event will also mark the release of HyperOS 2.0 skin based on Android 15.
The first-look posters of Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro hint at a strong emphasis on camera capabilities, with the Leica camera collaboration indicating enhanced photography. Like its predecessors, both smartphones have slim bezels and rounded corners. However, we can see the flashlight unit outside the squarish camera module, adding a fresh touch.
Many leaks and rumours have indicated that the Xiaomi Mi 15 will retain the 6.36″ flat AMOLED screen, like the Xiaomi 14, but it will have a 1.38mm ultra-narrow four-sided bezels. Notably, this model will have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which Xiaomi claims will speed up logins by up to 50%. On the battery front, it's expected to pack a 5,500 mAh battery, supporting both 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.
If we talk about the Xiaomi 15 Pro, it is expected to have an 8.35mm thickness and 213 grams weight. It will feature a bigger quad-curved screen, covered with Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0. The Xiaomi 15 lineup is expected to launch in markets outside China in 2025.
