Samsung Galaxy S26 series, the company’s next flagship lineup, is expected to launch in India and other global markets in the coming weeks. Now, new details have emerged about the Ultra model's camera improvements, particularly in challenging lighting conditions.
Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to be launched in global markets, including India, in February 2026. The South Korean tech giant is likely to host a dedicated Galaxy Unpacked event for the unveiling of the lineup, where we could see the launch of the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphones. Now, a new leak has surfaced about the potential camera improvements on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, including meaningful changes to improve image quality in varied lighting conditions.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Expected camera features
Through a post on the Chinese microblogging platform, Weibo, tipster Ice Universe has now claimed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will see noticeable camera improvements despite a similar quad camera setup. The biggest change is expected to be the new lens coating, which is likely to minimise lens flare, especially under direct sunlight or when the light source is directly pointed towards its camera.
Lens flare usually appears when sunlight or strong artificial light sources hit the camera lens at certain angles. It’s particularly noticeable in night shots or when the phone is used to take photos against the sun, with a beam of light at the lens making photos look washed out or unclear. However, with this reported lens coating solution, this particular problem is likely to be resolved, allowing users to click cleaner and sharper images.
The tipster also adds that Samsung will aim to fix a person’s skin accuracy in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which might not have been accurately reproduced in photos captured with the smartphone. This is also another common complaint with Samsung phones' cameras, and it appears that the inclusion of enhanced coating and processing changes will help in achieving that. Further, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be powered by Samsung's latest Exynos 2600 or the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
