Samsung has expanded its mid-range smartphone portfolio in India, with the Galaxy A17 5G. The device was already available in select global markets and comes with similar specifications to its global counterparts. Moreover, it offers core AI features such as Gemini Live and Circle to Search and runs on Android 15, with a promise to get six years of OS and patch updates.
Samsung Galaxy A17 5G: Price, availability
The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G has a starting price of Rs 18,999 for the base model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Meanwhile, the 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants are priced at Rs 20,499 and Rs 23,499, respectively. The handset is available in Black, Blue and Grey colour shades.
The device can be purchased from Samsung e-store, Amazon, Flipkart, and select retail stores. Prospective buyers can avail of a Rs 1,000 instant discount on SBI and HDFC Bank credit cards and EMI transactions.

The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G comes with a 6.7-inch full HD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1330 SoC and runs on One UI 7, based on Android 15. The device will get six more Android updates with security patches.
For photography, the phone has a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 50MP main sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. At the front, we get a 13MP selfie camera, housed inside the U-shaped notch. The Galaxy A17 5G houses a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, OTG, a USB Type-C port, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The handset has an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance and weighs 192g.
