Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched its latest budget smartphone in India, dubbed the Redmi 15 5G. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chip, has a 50MP rear camera, and features a large 7,000mAh silicone-carbon battery.

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has introduced the successor to last year’s Redmi 13 5G, named the Redmi 15 5G. One of the standout features of this device is the inclusion of a massive 7,000 mAh battery. Moreover, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, features a 50MP primary camera at the back, and offers several AI-powered tools for image editing and more.

Redmi 15 5G: Price, availability

The Redmi 15 5G has a starting price of Rs 14,999 for the base model with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. Meanwhile, the 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants are available for Rs 15,999 and Rs 16,999, respectively. The Redmi 15 5G will have its first sale on August 28, via Amazon, Xiaomi India website and major offline retail stores. The phone comes in three colour variants: Midnight Black, Frosted Black and Sandy Purple.

Redmi 15 5G: Specifications, features

The Redmi 15 5G comes with a 6.9-inch Full HD+ LCD display with 144Hz adaptive refresh rate and 288Hz touch sampling rate. It offers a typical peak brightness of 700 nits and 850 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM). On the performance front, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor based on the 6nm process and Adreno 619 GPU paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage.

The Redmi 15 5G runs HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15 out of the box. It will receive two years of major OS upgrades and four years of security updates. For photography, the phone comes with a 50MP primary rear shooter, a depth sensor, and an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calls. It packs a massive 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 33W wired fast charging and 18W reverse wired charging.

Further, the handset has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, and an IR Blaster. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The phone weighs 217g.
