Qubo has announced two new dashcams for the Indian market, expanding its lineup as dashcams become more common on Indian roads. The company has launched the Dashcam 4G Live and the Dashcam Trio, focusing on features that go beyond basic video recording.
Dashcams have steadily gained popularity in India as a way to document accidents, settle insurance disputes, and deal with road rage situations. With these two new models, Qubo is trying to address newer use cases, such as staying connected to the car remotely and capturing activity both inside and outside the vehicle.
The Dashcam 4G Live brings mobile connectivity to the category, allowing users to access the camera feed even when they are not near the car. The Dashcam Trio, on the other hand, adds a third camera inside the cabin, alongside the usual front and rear views. According to Qubo, both products have been tested for Indian road and weather conditions.
The company is part of the Hero Group, which has been expanding its presence in smart home and auto accessories in recent years.
Price and availability
The Qubo Dashcam 4G Live is priced at Rs. 15,990, while the Qubo Dashcam Trio comes in at Rs. 14,990. Both dashcams are expected to be available through Qubo’s official channels and major online platforms. The 4G Live model requires a cloud subscription called Qubo CloudPlay to access its connected features.
Specs and features
The Dashcam 4G Live records video at 2K resolution using a 4MP camera with a 140-degree field of view. Its key feature is 4G connectivity, which enables live video streaming, real-time GPS tracking, safety alerts for events like overspeeding or sudden jolts, and two-way voice communication. It also includes night vision support, a collision-detection sensor, built-in Wi-Fi and GPS, and expandable storage of up to 1TB. The dashcam uses a supercapacitor instead of a battery, which is meant to handle extreme temperatures better.
The Dashcam Trio features three cameras working at the same time. The front camera records in 2K resolution, while the rear and cabin cameras record in 1080p. The cabin camera also supports night vision, making it useful for monitoring activity inside the car. A 3.2-inch screen on the device allows users to view footage directly, while recordings can also be accessed through the Qubo Pro app, an SD card, or a wired connection to a laptop. Like the 4G model, it includes night vision technology, a G-sensor for collision detection, GPS, Wi-Fi, and support for up to 1TB of storage.
Commenting on the launch, Nikhil Rajpal said the company aims to bring newer global technologies to Indian drivers while adapting them for local conditions.
