Oppo launched the F27 Pro Plus smartphone in June this year, and it’s the first phone in India to come with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, Military Grade Durability with MIL-STD-810H ratings, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Now the Chinese company has confirmed that the phone will receive Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) features via a new OTA update on August 22.
The OPPO F27 Pro Plus’s suite of GenAI features is expected to provide more value to consumers by increasing user productivity. The first AI update is the AI Eraser 2.0, which allows you to remove unwanted objects or persons from an image, similar to Google’s Magic Eraser. It is said to effectively remove objects with 98% accuracy and works with just a few taps on the display.
Next, is AI Smart Matting 2.0, which lets users crop multiple subjects or objects from a single picture. These cutouts can then be used as stickers or GIF files to create short videos or meme messages. The AI Studio feature allows the creation of AI-generated images from templates that range from cowboys, astronauts, or even cyberpunk heroes.
Lastly, Oppo is introducing AI LinkBoost which will enhance call quality and optimize network usage by providing suitable network speed or frequency based on your surroundings. It allows for seamless network connection and minimizes delays and interruptions for a smoother experience.
Oppo F27 5G launch
The company has also announced that it will be launching the OPPO F27 5G smartphone soon. Through an X post, Oppo India announced the arrival of this smartphone in India. The teaser image has a circular-shaped camera module with multiple lenses and a flashlight.
