OnePlus Open, the company’s first foldable smartphone has now got a new Apex Edition, nearly a year later after the debut of the standard model. This new variant is offered in a new Crimson Shadow (Red) colour shade and has a vegan leather finish at the back. The Apex Edition model of the OnePlus Open features the same camera system as the standard model which has been co-engineered in partnership with Hasselblad.

OnePlus Open Apex Edition: Price, availability

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition has 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. It is priced at Rs 1,49,999. The standard variant of the OnePlus Open was launched with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage and is available in Emerald Dusk and Voyager Black shades. It was priced at Rs 1,39,999.

The new OnePlus Open Apex Edition will be available in India from August 10 on the OnePlus Store, OnePlus Experience Stores, Amazon, and select retail outlets such as Reliance Digital, Croma, Vijay Sales, and more. Prospective buyers will get up to Rs 20,000 discount with ICICI bank credit cards.

OnePlus Open Apex Edition: New features

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition comes in a new Crimson Shadow colour that the company said is inspired by the Hasselblad 503CW 60 Years Victor Red Edition camera. The company has stated that it has blended subtle hues of materials like leather that give this foldable smartphone a premium look.

It also has orange accents on the Alert Slider, giving the smartphone a unique appearance.

Apart from aesthetic changes, the OnePlus Open Apex Edition offers 1TB (UFS 4.0) onboard storage and a dedicated security chip.  This is also the first OnePlus smartphone with ‘VIP’ mode, which can be activated using the redesigned alert slider.

Once enabled, the smartphone enters a new privacy mode, powered by an independent security chip, where all the cameras and microphones will be automatically disabled. It also physically isolates the storage so that unauthorised access to the data on the smartphone is barred.
