Oppo is gearing up to launch its next premium foldable, the Find N5, in China next month. The phone is widely expected to arrive as the OnePlus Open 2 in global markets and is confirmed to be the ‘thinnest foldable phone’ ever. Now, another teaser video from the brand has revealed that the OnePlus Open 2 will fix one of the biggest drawbacks of OnePlus' first foldable.
OnePlus Open 2 to come with wireless charging and IPX9 rating
Zhou Yibao, an OPPO executive, announced on Weibo that the Find N5 or the OnePlus Open 2 will feature 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging support, which is one of the fastest implementations ever seen on any foldable. He also confirmed that the foldable will support in-car wireless charging systems of popular EV car brands like BYD, NIO, and more.
Further, the company claims that it has managed to provide fast wireless charging by reducing the density of the charging coil, despite its thinner design. Another post also showcased the phone’s underwater capabilities with a video that revealed that the Find N5 will have an IPX9 rating for water resistance. In the teaser video, the phone’s camera is used to record videos underwater and we can also see the slim borders of the inner display.
In terms of other hardware features, the Find N5 or the OnePlus Open 2 is tipped to have a triple camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary sensor with a 50MP periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP ultrawide shooter. Further, the phone could have a 5,700mAh battery.
