If you were just about to upgrade your phone, you might want to pause for a bit. July is going to be a huge month for smartphone lovers in India. From sleek foldables to power-packed all-rounders, many major brands are ready to drop their latest devices. Whether you're after performance, design, camera quality or value for money, something interesting is just around the corner. Here’s a look at eight phones launching in India this July that are worth waiting for:
1. Nothing Phone (3)
Nothing is back with its third-generation smartphone, and it looks like the company is shaking things up again. The Nothing Phone (3), launching on July 1, features a fresh, industrial design with sharp lines, exposed screws, and the brand’s signature transparent back. There’s also a new circular Glyph interface and a metal frame with a glass back, making it feel more premium.
Under the hood, the Phone (3) is tipped to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, paired with a 5150mAh battery. The flat OLED display will support a 120Hz refresh rate, and the triple rear camera setup is expected to include a 50MP main shooter. If the pricing is right, this could be one of the most compelling mid-premium phones this year.
2. OnePlus Nord 5
The OnePlus Nord 5 is shaping up to be a significant upgrade over its predecessor. It might come with a large 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The phone is also expected to feature IP65 water and dust resistance.
On the camera front, it could include a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP selfie camera — a big jump from the 16MP selfie shooter in the Nord 4. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip will power the phone, and the battery is expected to be a massive 6,700mAh with 80W fast charging.
3. OnePlus Nord CE 5
The Nord CE 5 is also expected to launch alongside the Nord 5, bringing a more affordable option to users. It will likely feature a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chip, it should handle daily tasks and light gaming comfortably.
The phone might come with 8GB RAM, and storage options between 128GB and 256GB. The camera setup could mirror the Nord 5 with a 50MP + 8MP dual rear camera and a 16MP front shooter. A 5,200mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging rounds out the package.
4. Vivo X Fold 5
Vivo is entering the Indian foldable market again, and the X Fold 5 is looking very promising. Set to launch globally on June 25 and in India between July 10 and July 15, the X Fold 5 could arrive just after Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Vivo is focusing on making this the slimmest and lightest foldable yet. It’s expected to be 2mm thinner and 20 grams lighter than its predecessor, thanks to its fourth-gen silicon-carbon battery and semi-solid-state battery tech, which can function in extreme cold conditions.
Durability-wise, the phone could sport IPX8, IPX9, and IPX9+ water protection, along with IP5X dust resistance. The display is expected to use bright 8T LTPO panels with peak brightness of 4500 nits. It will also come with a triple-camera setup co-engineered with Zeiss, including a periscope lens with 3x optical zoom.
5. Vivo X200 FE
Vivo’s X200 FE has already launched in Taiwan and is expected to hit the Indian market soon. The compact phone is a rebranded version of the Vivo S30 Pro Mini but comes with impressive hardware.
It features the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chip, a 6.31-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a large 6,500mAh battery. The camera system includes a 50MP Sony IMX921 sensor, a 50MP telephoto (branded with Zeiss optics), and an 8MP ultra-wide. The front camera is also 50MP, and both front and back support 4K video at 60fps.
6. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
Samsung has confirmed a Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, where the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be officially unveiled. While the design isn’t expected to change drastically, Samsung says the Fold 7 will be its thinnest and most durable foldable yet. Leaks suggest it could be as thin as 3.9mm when unfolded and weigh around 215 grams.
Performance upgrades are likely, with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip inside and a 200MP main camera. We might also see improved durability, possibly with IP68 rating, and reduced crease visibility on the display. The Fold 7 could become a more user-friendly foldable than ever before.
7. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7
Also expected to launch alongside the Fold 7, the Flip 7 could bring more practical upgrades. Rumours suggest Samsung will finally increase the outer display size, making it more usable for day-to-day tasks.
The Flip 7 may feature the new Exynos 2500 processor or stick with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 depending on the region. It’s also expected to carry forward the same battery and charging specs as the Flip 6 but with a better hinge, less crease, and an improved design.
8. Honor Magic V3 (India Launch Expected)
While not officially confirmed yet, reports suggest Honor may launch its Magic V3 foldable phone in India this July. The phone is expected to compete directly with the Samsung and Vivo foldables, bringing in ultra-slim design, flagship performance, and powerful cameras. If Honor plays the price card right, the Magic V3 could be a surprise hit.
So, if you were on the verge of buying a phone in June, you might want to hold off just a few more weeks. July is packed with big launches across all price segments. Whether you’re a photography buff, a multitasker looking for productivity tools, or someone who just wants a stylish new phone with great value — there’s likely something worth waiting for
