UK-based smartphone brand Nothing has unveiled a new home screen widget that brings the classic Snake game to its phones. This widget is now available for download for Nothing smartphone users in India. It was developed in collaboration with community members Rahul Janardhanan and Thomas Legendre Rahul Janardhanan and pays homage to the classic snake experience on keypad Nokia phones.

Nothing Snake game widget: How to play

The Snake game widget is available for download through the Nothing Community Widgets app on the Google Play Store. It can be installed on Nothing Phone 1, Phone 2, and the Phone 2a series smartphones. Once installed, you can add the widget to your home screen. In case you can’t see the game on your home screen widgets section, then try to update the Nothing Launcher app from the Play Store.

Once you have installed the Snake game widget on the home screen, tap on the box to start the game. The snake moves with the touch input or swipe gestures in the directions up-down-left-right. Users can also tap on the screen to pause the game or double-tap to view the high score. Once the snake hits a barricade or obstruction, the game will end there and users will then receive their scores.

The Snake game home screen widget is part of Nothing's broader initiative to feature community-driven widgets exclusively for its users. Further, the company is also encouraging more community contributions, promising more intuitive and personalization options in its operating system.
