UK-based tech and lifestyle brand Nothing has officially announced the Headphone (a), the company’s latest addition to its over-ear audio lineup. The headphones have been introduced alongside the Nothing Phone 4a series and are positioned as a more expressive and affordable alternative to last year’s Nothing Headphone (1). The audio product continues the brand's focus on unique-looking audio devices while building on its transparent-looking Glyph-inspired identity.
Nothing Headphone (a): Price, availability
The Nothing Headphone (a) is priced at $ 199 (around Rs 18,200) in the US and EUR 159 (around Rs 17,000) in Europe. The headphones will be sold in four colour shades: Black, White, Pink, and Yellow. The global pre-orders of the Headphone (a) have now begun through Nothing's official website and select retail partners.
The first open sales for the Black, White, and Pink shades are scheduled to begin on March 13. Meanwhile, the Yellow colour option will be available from April 6. The company has yet to announce the availability and price details of the Headphone (a) in India.
Nothing Headphone (a): Specifications, features
The Nothing Headphone (a) comes with Nothing's physical control system integrated into the earcups. These include the Roller, Paddle, and Button controls, which allows to adjust volume, switch modes, and navigate tracks with simple gestures. The button can also be used as a camera shutter trigger. For voice calls, the headphones use a three-microphone Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) system, aimed to reduce background noise for clearer communication. There’s also an IP52 rating for protection against sweat and dust.
The Headphone (a) comes with a 40mm titanium-coated driver. It supports Hi-Resolution Audio and the LDAC codec. It also features Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with three presets. Beyond the design and sound profile, another big highlight of the headphones is its claimed battery life. Nothing claims it can provide up to 135 hours of listening time with ANC off on a single charge. A five-minute charge provides five hours of playback time, while a zero-to-full charge takes close to two hours. In terms of connectivity, it comes with a USB-C cable and a 3.5mm jack for wired listening and charging.
