Instagram has been introducing a lot of features lately and now with the help of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has launched a special filter on the app. This new NASA project allows users to experience the wonders of the universe through the Chandra X-ray Observatory and other space telescopes.
Instagram has dubbed this augmented reality (AR) filter as ‘Instagram experience.’ It is a part of a NASA project, that brings the beauty of nebulas, galaxies, stars, and meteors right at the palm of your hand. NASA has named it as “Instagram Chandra” experience, it provides a unique view of the universe, which was only visible earlier with high-end telescopes.
This AR filter also includes popular space phenomena like the wreckage of stars and various clouds of cosmic gas, where there are various stars of the universe actively forging. It also marks the 25th anniversary of Chandra X-ray’s space telescope project, which launched on July 23, 1999.
NASA’s new 3D Instagram filters to view the universe: How to use it
Follow the below steps to view different 3D filters on your smartphone through the Instagram app.
Open the Instagram app and search for the ‘NASAChandraXray’ page.
After that, tap on the effects icon at the top. It will be visible with a three stars logo.
Now, you can see five different AR filters. Choose your favourite one and select Try it.
This will open the camera on your app and you now view different 3D space filters in your nearby surroundings.
