If there’s one skill that can shape your career over the next 10 years, it’s learning — and learning well. At least that’s what Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Microsoft AI, believes.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Suleyman shared a piece of advice that feels especially relevant right now:
“Biggest career accelerator in the next decade: get really, really good at learning.”
But he didn’t just leave it at that. He broke down exactly what that means — and how you can actually do it.
Here are the six tips he shared:
Know how you learn best. Are you someone who needs visuals to get a concept? Do you learn better through podcasts or by writing things down? Understanding your learning style is where it starts.
Let AI help you. This one’s kind of brilliant. Use tools like ChatGPT to turn complex topics into formats you prefer — like quizzes, short summaries, flashcards, or even conversations. AI can make dry material easier to absorb.
Actually use what you learn. Don’t just collect knowledge like random trivia. Try applying it — whether it’s a side project, a discussion, or something at work. That’s when things click.
Do it again. And again. The process of learning and applying is a loop. The more you do it, the faster you grow.
Suleyman’s post isn’t filled with fancy jargon or long-winded advice. It’s simple, and that’s probably why it hit home for so many.
