Google has recently announced its new TV streaming device, the Google TV Streamer 4K, which replaces the age-old Chromecast streaming devices. Now, in a new blog post, Google has announced that it is using its advanced Gemini AI models to redefine how users interact with smart home devices.
The tech giant also reported that its Google Nest cameras will get new features with the help of Gemini AI. These smart home surveillance camera devices will now be able to understand and interpret what they see and hear, providing users with more meaningful insights of the video feed.
Google Home is also getting a major upgrade with the introduction of ‘Help me create.’ This feature utilizes Gemini AI to simplify the process of creating home automation. Users can describe what they want with simple commands, and Google Home will take care of the rest. These custom automations will then be successfully operated by Google Home devices.
Google has also stated that Google Assistant on Nest speakers and displays is also getting a boost from Gemini. The upgraded assistant will be better at understanding human languages, allowing for more conversational interactions. Further, we can also expect some new Google Assistant voices to be introduced later this year.
Additionally, Google Nest will now allow you to ask follow-up questions, rephrase your queries, and even ask for some well-known facts or opinions. All of these updates are expected to be rolled out later this year to a limited number of Nest Aware subscribers.
