Krafton India has announced that the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2025 Grand Finals will take place in Kolkata from April 25 to 27, with a record ₹3.2 crore prize pool. This marks a 60% increase from the previous edition, making it the biggest prize offering in the tournament’s history.
The top 16 teams will compete in a three-day finale at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan. Teams that qualified include GodLike Esports, Team SouL, Orangutan, Reckoning Esports, and other rising squads like Cincinnati Kids and Bot Army. These finalists were selected after a multi-stage qualification process that involved thousands of competitive matches across India.
This year, KRAFTON has also expanded the prize distribution by allocating an additional ₹1.2 crore for the top 32 teams. This move is aimed at encouraging emerging teams and creating a broader support system within the Indian Esports ecosystem.
The rise in the prize pool was driven by the success of the newly introduced BGIS 2025 Crate, an in-game item that has allowed fans to directly support the Esports scene. KRAFTON says the initiative saw an overwhelming response, reflecting the growing engagement of India’s gaming community.
With over 200 million registered users on BGMI, the BGIS tournament has become a flagship event for the Indian gaming community. The 2025 edition is being seen as a turning point in competitive mobile gaming, both in terms of scale and inclusivity.
The BGIS 2025 Grand Finals will be streamed live across BGMI’s official YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
