Apple has introduced a new limited-edition Apple Watch band to celebrate Black History Month, highlighting themes of connection, creativity, and community. The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop joins Apple’s ongoing Unity collection and is available to order in India starting today.
Price and availability
The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is priced at Rs 9,500 in India. It is available in 42mm and 46mm case sizes, with band sizes ranging from 0 to 12. The band is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 and later, Apple Watch SE, and all Apple Watch Ultra models, although the Ultra supports only the 46mm version. Orders are live on the Apple Store online and the Apple Store app, with in-store availability beginning later this week.
Apple says the new Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is designed to honour the power of connection and shared identity. Like previous Unity bands, it was created by Black creatives and allies at Apple, drawing inspiration from the Pan-African flag. The band features layered shades of red, green, and black, which Apple says are meant to reflect depth, vibrancy, and togetherness.
The braided band is made by weaving recycled polyester yarn filaments around ultra-thin silicone threads using precision braiding machinery. Apple describes it as soft, textured, sweat-resistant, and water-resistant, making it suitable for everyday wear. The use of recycled materials also aligns with Apple’s broader environmental goals.
Alongside the launch, Apple announced continued financial support for organisations that promote creativity and connection in under-resourced communities. These include the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York City, Youth Music in London, the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, and Enactus México in Mexico City. Apple says these new grants build on its long-standing efforts to expand economic, educational, and creative opportunities worldwide.
