Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has released the watchOS 11.5 update for Apple Watch users. This update adds a new watch face and fixes a bug that could prevent the iPhone from showing a notification when the Apple Watch battery is fully charged. It comes a month before the company will unveil the Apple watchOS 12 operating system at the upcoming WWDC event in June.
Apple watchOS 11.5 update released: Here’s what’s new
The latest Apple watchOS 11.5 update introduces a new Pride Harmony watch face, following Apple’s pattern of releasing new Pride watch faces ahead of Pride Month every year. It also supports the improved always-on display mode on the Apple Watch Series 10 smartwatches. This means that users will be able to see the hand that represents seconds move even when the display is dimmed in always-on mode, while using this watch face.
The Pride Harmony watch face is designed to pair seamlessly with Pride wallpapers introduced in iOS and iPadOS 18.5 updates, creating a consistent look across all major Apple ecosystem devices. Another notable addition in watchOS 11.5 is the ability to make purchases within the Apple TV app directly from the Apple Watch, even while using third-party devices.
Further, Apple has resolved an issue that may prevent your iPhone from showing a notification when the watch battery is fully charged with the watchOS 11.5 update. This new update can be downloaded by connecting a compatible Apple Watch Series 6 or later device with an iPhone.
